Excursió guiada a la Ruta de Pedra en Sec

Guided tour on the Dry Stone Route - The Camí de ses Voltes d'en Galileu

The Mallorca Council invites you to discover the most emblematic snow itinerary of the Serra de Tramuntana.
The excursion takes place in an environment of great landscape and environmental value, in which two imposing snow wells and their complementary constructions (the Son Macip Snow House and the Galileu Snow House) stand out, restored by the Council of Majorca When it snowed, the day laborers deposited the snow in these wells, where it was stored for the summer. Mountain ice was a very precious commodity between the 17th and 19th centuries, for its uses in medicine and gastronomy. In the oak grove, there are also many huts and coal sheds linked to the production of charcoal.
