Jornada de voluntariat a la Ruta de Pedra en Sec

The Council of Mallorca and the international association REPS are organizing a Volunteer Day on the Dry Stone Route on Saturday 5 October. This activity offers a fun and experiential learning experience of heritage conservation. The participants will contribute to the maintenance of the Raixa path (terme de Bunyola), which is part of Variant 5 of the Dry Stone Route, participating in the reconstruction of the dry stone walls of a section of the path, from the hand of the association More than Stone.
The day is an opportunity to experience the secrets of the dry stone technique, included in the list of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2018. On the island of Mallorca it has allowed the construction of terraces, walls, paths and a multitude of structures linked to agricultural, livestock and forestry activities on the island. It is estimated that there are more than 19,000 linear km of banks in the Serra de Tramuntana alone.
